Why join us

Built on the
right crew.

Branchwalkers is a small company by design. We hire carefully, train properly, and keep people — most of the current crew have been here five years or more. Here's what you get when you join.

01

A real career, not just a job

Every climber here started as a groundsman. NPTC Level 2 Tree Climbing funded after six months. Aerial rescue the same. Chipper tickets, first aid, manual handling — all paid. Progression is a path, not a promise.

02

Variety of work

Domestic garden reductions on Tuesday, utility line-clearance work Wednesday, a Network Rail possession Friday night. Not the same site a hundred times — the kind of variety that makes you good at the trade.

03

Kit that doesn't cost you

Saws, ropes, harnesses, helmets, wet-weather kit — we buy and maintain it. You don't walk in with £2k of your own gear. You bring your boots and your brain; we bring everything else.

04

Paid properly

Fair day rates, timesheets checked, overtime paid not expected-unpaid, pension enrolled after three months. The industry has a reputation for rough treatment; we try not to deserve it.

05

A crew that stays a crew

Small company, no politics, no silos. The owner climbs with you on bigger jobs. The office is five minutes from the van. You'll know everyone's name by week two.

06

Work that matters

Keeping ancient pollards alive. Saving trees that other crews would have felled. Clearing a rail corridor so the 07:12 to Victoria runs on time. Your hands do something real every day.

What we look for

Hands, head,
and heart.

Tickets matter, but they're not the thing that makes someone Branchwalkers. The common thread across our best people is simpler.
