What happens next

From enquiry to
finished job.

The five-step flow most jobs follow from the moment you pick up the phone — so you know what's coming before you call.

  1. 01

    Get in touch

Call, WhatsApp, or fill in the online form. Tell us roughly where the tree is, what you think it needs, and — if you can — send a photo. One photo saves a surprising amount of time.

  2. 02

    Same-day reply

Most enquiries get a reply within a few working hours. For bigger or more complex jobs, we book a site visit; for simple jobs, we sometimes quote straight from the photo and a short chat.

  3. 03

    Free site visit

A surgeon walks the site with you, looks at the trees, the access, and the neighbours' hedges — then talks you through the options honestly. No pressure, no upsell. Usually 20–30 minutes.

  4. 04

    Written quote

Within 48 hours of the visit. Full scope, methodology, crew size, access arrangements, waste disposal, and council paperwork (if needed) — with a clear price. No surprises.

  5. 05

    Booking & delivery

You book the date; we schedule the crew. On the day we arrive, work BS:3998 methods, tidy up, and hand over. Invoice on completion. That's it.

Before you call

Questions, answered
quickly.

The things most people want to know before picking up the phone. Not here? Call the freephone — we're happy to get into detail.

Do you charge for quotes or site visits?

No. Every quote and first site visit is free and carries no obligation. We'll come out, assess the trees, and give you a clear written breakdown of costs — whether you book with us or not. It's baked into the way we work.

How quickly can you come out?

For quotes, within 48 hours — sooner if the job is urgent. For genuine emergencies (storm damage, fallen trees, hazardous limbs over a road or building) we can usually get a crew on site within 24 hours, sometimes same-day.

Are you insured?

Yes — fully. £10 million public liability insurance and employer's liability cover on every job. Copies of insurance certificates available on request before work begins. We're also Safe Contractor approved.

What qualifications do your crews hold?

All tree surgeons are NPTC-qualified to the relevant industry standards — climbing, chainsaw operation, aerial rescue, and the tickets required for the specific equipment on the job. We'll share certifications on request.

Can you handle Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and Conservation Area notices?

Yes — we act as your council agent from start to finish. TPO applications, Conservation Area notices, felling licence applications, BS5837 surveys for planning. The paperwork stays with us; you get told when a decision comes through. It's part of the service, not an extra.

TPO & survey service

Do you take on commercial or utility contracts?

Yes — we run dedicated teams for Highways England, Network Rail contractors, and multiple DNOs. Overhead-line vegetation management (11kV to 400kV), rail-corridor clearance in Red Zones, and highway vegetation within TM windows.

What postcodes do you cover for domestic work?

Our domestic patch is Brighton, Hove, Lewes, Ringmer, Seaford, Shoreham, Henfield, Worthing, Hassocks, Burgess Hill, and all surrounding BN postcodes. If you're not sure whether you're in range, just call — we'll know straight away.

Do you clear away everything after the job?

Always. Every site is left cleaner than we found it — all chippings, logs, and debris removed unless you ask us to leave them (firewood stacking on request). Lawns raked, driveways swept. It's the part of the job most customers comment on.

Do you work on weekends or out of hours?

Weekends by arrangement for domestic jobs. Out-of-hours and night work is routine for our utility and rail operations where possessions or TM windows require it.

How do I pay, and what are the payment terms?

For domestic jobs, payment on completion — bank transfer or card. For commercial and contract work, standard 30-day terms via invoice. We're happy to provide references and recent audit documentation for new commercial customers.

What happens if you spot something unexpected during the work?

We stop and speak to you first. If we find hidden decay, a nest, a TPO we weren't aware of, or anything else that changes the scope — we pause, explain, and agree the next step with you before continuing. No surprises on the invoice.

Can I get a ballpark figure over the phone?

Sometimes, for simple jobs where you can describe the tree clearly and send a photo. Most of the time we'd rather walk the site and quote accurately — it's quick, it's free, and it stops either of us getting it wrong. WhatsApp a photo if you want a rough steer.
